Sue trained in classical singing for three years at the Birmingham Conservatoire. At the same time she played leading musical theatre roles at The University of Birmingham, where she graduated with a 1st Class Music degree. She went on to The Central School of Speech and Drama, studying musical theatre and popular music.

Her diverse career has embraced many vocal styles, and her credits include: South Pacific (UK Tour), Pusila for the Royal Opera House and Cinderella in Sondheim’s Into the Woods.

Sue’s work as a session singer has led her to perform with highly acclaimed conductor John Wilson and his orchestra on several occasions. These include four BBC Proms, and recordings for EMI Records with the Maida Vale Singers at Abbey Road Studios.

She was delighted to be part of the company which revived The Good Companions by André Previn and Johnny Mercer in 2009 for Radio 3, conducted by John Wilson, with the BBC Concert Orchestra.

Sue’s love of jazz and The Great American Songbook inspired her to found Limelight Jazz & Swing Band in 2006. Limelight are noted for their high quality musicianship, and for Sue’s original vocal harmony arrangements of well loved jazz standards.

With Limelight, Sue created Jazzeoke, the opportunity to sing your favourite jazz standards with a live jazz band. Since its first outing in 2012, the night has been a successful component of corporate and fundraising events, and has featured on several occasions at The Breakfast Club, Canary Wharf.  For more information about Limelight and Jazzeoke visit the Limelight website
